The Bulldogs improved to 26-6 overall and 4-0 in league play.
In the opener, Youngstown State's Cheryl Cale and Butler Jenny Esparza battled in a classic pitcher's duel for five innings. Cale had allowed just three hits and struck out five while Esparza only allowed two hits.
