Norfolf, Va. -- Junior Elle Buffenbarger struck out eight batters and threw the Youngstown State's softball program's first no-hitter since 2013 as the Penguins defeated Norfolk State, 8-0, on Saturday afternoon.

The Penguins, who move to 4-3 on the season, also lost to Radford, 4-0, earlier in the day.

Sophomore Grace Cea and senior Maddi Lusk each went 2-for-4 and Cea scored twice and drove in another run.

After scoring twice in the toip of the first and one in the fourth, the Penguins used a four-run fifth inning to take a 7-0 lead. A sacrifice fly by Nikki Saibene in the top of the sixth gave the Penguins an 8-0 advantage.

The Penguins take on Sacred Heart and Norfolk State, Sunday, at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.
