The Youngstown State women's golf team is scheduled to compete in seven events between late February and late April during the 2020-21 season. Head Coach Nate Miklos announced the team's tentative spring schedule on Tuesday.
After not competing during the fall, the Penguins will begin their season Feb. 28-March 2 with the Kiawah Island Spring Classic hosted by College of Charleston at Kiawah Island Golf Resort in Kiawah Island, S.C. The event will be played on the Oak Point and Cougar Point courses at Kiawah Island Golf Resort.
YSU's second event of the spring will be the Low Country Intercollegiate hosted by Wofford at Bear Creek Golf Club in Hilton Head, S.C. (March 13-14). The Penguins will then travel to Nevel Meade Golf Course in Prospect, Ky., for the Nevel Meade Collegiate hosted by Cleveland State on March 22-23.
The following week, Youngstown State will face St. Francis (Pa.) in a dual match on March 29 at a course and location to be determined. On April 10-11, the Penguins will take part in the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational hosted by Bowling Green at Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green, Ohio. YSU is also tentatively scheduled to face Cleveland State in a dual match on April 17 at a course and location to be determined.
The campaign will culminate with the Horizon League Championships at Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-In-The-Hills, Fla. (April 25-27). The Penguins have finished third or better at the event five of the last seven times it has been held. YSU has won three league titles, the most recent coming in 2015.
The NCAA Regionals are scheduled for May 10-12 with the sites yet to be determined.
