Incoming freshman Caroline Hartough (Huntington, N.Y.) gives YSUsports.com an update as she prepares to begin her collegiate career at Youngstown State.
When did you start playing lacrosse and why?
I started playing lacrosse in the fifth grade. My friends all played and I decided to give it a try and fell in love with it.
What made you choose YSU?
I chose YSU because I love the atmosphere of both athletics and the school in general! As well and the coaches and academics!
What are your plans for the summer?
My plans for the rest of the summer are to hang out and spend time with my family and friends before I leave for school.
Have you reached out to any of your new teammates, or did you previously know anyone on the team?
My roommates and I have a group chat which we talk in and we also have a bigger group chat with everyone!
How anxious are you to get to campus and start your college career?
I am very excited and can't wait to be on campus. I am so excited to make new friends and to play lacrosse!
What was the lacrosse highlight of your high school/club career?
The highlight of my lacrosse career would be all the friends and memories I have made by playing!
Do you have any pets and what are their names?
I have a Boston terrier and French bulldog mix named Maple.
What did you miss the most from your last few months of high school being cancelled?
I definitely missed being able to see my friends and being able to play lacrosse and compete.
What kind of activities are you doing to stay in shape?
I always go on runs and I play lacrosse in my backyard with my bounce-back.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of playing lacrosse?
I love to play soccer, watch movies, and spend time with family and friends!
If you weren't a lacrosse player, what sport would you like to do?
If I wasn't a lacrosse player, I would probably play soccer. I have always loved soccer and have been playing since I was six years old!
Did you have a favorite athlete or team that inspired you growing up? – If so, what athlete or team and why?
My biggest influences and inspirations are definitely my parents. They always support and encourage me in everything I do.
