Starting at the end of June and extending through much of July, the Youngstown State volleyball program is announcing its nine newcomers individually on YSUsports.com.
The fifth student-athlete being announced by third-year head coach Aline Scott is Kiley Mitchell. Mitchell is a middle blocker from Oswego, Ill., who will be a freshman for the Penguins in 2020.
Mitchell on why she chose to become a Penguin: I chose to play volleyball at Youngstown State University because of the atmosphere and how the players and coaching staff automatically made me feel at home on my visit. I believe that this will be a great fit for me, and I am so very excited for the next four years.
Coach Scott on Mitchell: Kiley comes to us with a great mix of natural athletic ability and excellent training at the club level. She has been playing against and alongside some of the best players in the country, so she is used to high-level volleyball. She is a great addition to our group of middle blockers, and I am looking forward to working with her.
