Starting at the end of June and extending through much of July, the Youngstown State volleyball program is announcing its nine newcomers individually on YSUsports.com.
The sixth student-athlete being announced by third-year head coach Aline Scott is Amber Morris. Morris is an outside hitter from Rochester Hills, Mich., who will be a freshman for the Penguins in 2020.
Morris on why she chose to be a Penguin: I'm super excited to join the YSU volleyball team because all the coaches and players were really welcoming and enthusiastic. I could really see myself fitting in with this team. Also, Youngstown State offers a lot of great learning opportunities that I am very interested in for the future.
Coach Scott on Morris: Amber is a well-rounded, six-rotation outside hitter with a ton of potential. I had the opportunity to work with her during a camp last year, and I'm excited to have her on our team. She is hardworking and coachable, and she has a solid skill base. She will be an important part of our group of pin hitters.
